2. Pentimento Ltd (trading as Brown Skin Books) reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting changes online. Your continued use of this site after changes are posted means that you accept this agreement as modified by the posted changes.

3. Payment

We accept all major credit and debit cards, cheque, postal orders or international money orders made out to Pentimento Ltd. Pentimento Ltd is the retailer name that will appear on your card statements.

4. Security

You can be confident that your credit or debit card details are safe and secure as all payments are collected using the Worldpay secure online payment system.

5. Delivery

All products are subject to availability. Orders will be despatched within three(3) working days after payment unless otherwise advised. You will be advised by email if your item is not in stock. You will be able to cancel your order if you do not wish to wait for delivery.

Without prejudice to the statutory rights afforded to consumers under English law, Pentimento Ltd (trading as Brown Skin Books) accepts no liability for any failure to ship products where this results from its inability to do so or its decision on reasonable grounds not to do so, provided that it takes all reasonable steps to notify you within fourteen (14) days of order placement that products will not be shipped as ordered. In such cases Pentimento Ltd (trading as Brown Skin Books) will not process any payment or will immediately refund any payment made in full.

6. Customs

Goods ordered for delivery overseas may be subject to import duties and taxes. Any additional charge for customs clearance or local duties or taxes must be borne by you. Please note too that your order must comply with the laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

7. Returns

It is your responsibility to check goods on receipt for damage or any discrepancy with the items ordered. To return goods please notify us by email to 'info' at brownskinbooks.co.uk clearly stating your name, the order reference number and details of the product fault or error.

Goods must be returned in an ‘as supplied’ condition. We will accept claims for damaged goods providing (a) they are made in writing within three (3) days of receipt of goods and (b) the goods are returned to us for inspection.

Pentimento Ltd (trading as Brown Skin Books) will always give full consideration to any complaint received in writing but their liability will be limited in all circumstances to the refund of monies received or to the supply of satisfactory goods.

No refunds or exchanges will be made until goods have been received by us. For your protection, we suggest that you use a recorded-delivery service. Goods lost in transit will be subject to investigation by the company used for transit. If investigation shows the customer’s claim to be valid, a replacement consignment will be despatched in due course.

8. Cancellation

You have the right to cancel the contract for your purchase within seven (7) working days of receipt of the goods by giving written notice of cancellation within this period.

Please return the goods to us, unopened and in their original condition to: Returns Dept, Brown Skin Books, Pentimento Ltd, PO Box 57421, London E5 0ZD . You will receive a refund of the full purchase price less any postage and packing costs.

We suggest that you use a recorded-delivery service to return the goods. Please include your name, address and the reason for the return. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.

9. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any delay or failure in carrying out our obligations which is caused wholly or partly by Act of God, delay in transportation, labour disputes, fire, flood, war, accident, Government action, inability to obtain adequate stocks, material, equipment, fuel, power transportation or any cause beyond our control or beyond the control of our servants or agents.
